TsAGI, the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Prof. N.E. Zhukovsky is the state research centre of Russian Federation. It was founded in 1918.

TsAGI carries out fundamental and applied investigationsin the following directions:

  • Aerodynamics
  • Propulsion
  • Acoustics
  • Strength
  • Hydrodynamics
  • Flight Dynamics
  • Measurements

Test facilities:

  • wind tunnels
  • strength labs
  • acousticchambers
  • propulsion system
  • test benches

Experience on development and tests of propellers for all Russian and Soviet turboprops, including D-27 engine.

Wind tunnel test of Antonov AN - 140 turboprop : D-27 engine

WP3.5 – Open Rotor – TsAGI Contribution

Objectives

To perform Aero and acoustic evaluation of open rotor

  • 5 configurations including a reference
  • 10 discs, 100 blades, 240 runs
  • With and without blowing pylon and incidence

Aero and Acoustic TestsPropeller test Rig VP-107

TsAGI will:

  • manufacture the test articles
  • adapt and prepare VP-107 rig and T-104 and T-107 wind tunnels
  • provide instrumentations and perform mechanical, aerodynamic and acoustic acquisition
  • conduct tests in low speed T-104 and high peed T-107 wind tunnels
