The ‘Institut supérieur de l’aéronautique et de l’espace’ (ISAE) is the result of the merger in 2007 of SUPAERO and ENSICA, two higher education and research institutions of excellent reputations within the biggest European Aerospace groups. ISAE aims to continue this role of key player in higher education and research for aerospace engineering in Europe.
ISAE constitutes a training centre for research and innovation, directing its activities to obtain a balance between academic achievement and contractual development with industry. The subjects addressed concern sectors using technology from the aerospace domain and embedded systems, taking into consideration the problems of sustainable development.
The Scientific activity of ISAE is organised by Head of Research into five training and research departments and a specialized Centre :

- Mathematics, computer science, automatics
- Languages, arts, culture and society
- Aeronautics and Space Centre
